Class of 2024

How ROCS Works

At Rocket Online Schools (ROCS), we believe that education should be as dynamic and flexible as the students we serve. Our virtual school model is designed to provide a personalized, engaging, and high-quality education to students across Kansas, with plans to expand into Missouri and Arkansas. Here’s how our program works:

Enrollment and Orientation

Step 1: Enrollment
Getting started with ROCS is easy. Begin by visiting our website and completing the online enrollment form. Once your application is reviewed and approved, you'll receive a welcome packet with all the information needed to begin your journey with ROCS.

Step 2: Orientation
All new students and families are invited to participate in an orientation session. During this session, you’ll meet key staff members, learn how to navigate our online platform, and get familiar with the tools and resources available to you.

Personalized Learning Plans

Course Placement
At ROCS, we work closely with families to ensure that each student is placed in the courses that best match their academic level and goals. Our team collaborates with parents and students to understand their needs and preferences, making sure they start with the right courses from day one.

Customized Curriculum
Our educators develop a customized curriculum tailored to each student’s unique learning needs and goals. This curriculum is flexible and can be adjusted as students progress throughout the year, ensuring they are both challenged and supported.

Daily Learning Experience

Acellus Online Learning Platform
Students log in to our secure, user-friendly online platform, Acellus, where they can access all of their courses, assignments, and resources. Acellus is accessible using a Chromebook, or from a Mac or Windows computer, allowing students to learn anytime, anywhere.

Interactive Assignments and Projects
Students engage in interactive assignments, projects, and discussions that make learning both engaging and effective. Immediate feedback is provided, ensuring students understand the material before moving on.

Support and Interaction

Licensed Teachers
Every ROCS student is paired with a licensed, certified teacher who provides guidance, support, and instruction. Teachers are available for one-on-one sessions, group lessons, and office hours to ensure every student has the help they need.

Parental Involvement
Parents play a crucial role in their child’s education at ROCS. They have access to our online platform to monitor progress, communicate with teachers, and stay involved in their child’s daily learning.

Community and Social Engagement
Even in a virtual environment, ROCS fosters a strong sense of community. Students have opportunities to participate in virtual clubs, social activities, and community events. These experiences allow them to connect with peers and develop social skills.

Progress Monitoring and Adjustments

Ongoing Support
Student progress is regularly monitored by our educators to ensure they are on track with their learning goals. We work with students and families to make any necessary adjustments to the learning plan, keeping education personalized and effective.

Flexible Adjustments
As students grow and their needs change, their learning plans and curriculum can be adjusted. This flexibility ensures that each student remains engaged, challenged, and supported throughout their academic journey.

Graduation and Beyond

Earning Credits
ROCS students earn credits that are fully transferable to other public schools or can be applied toward earning a high school diploma recognized by the State of Kansas.

Graduation
Upon meeting all graduation requirements, ROCS students earn a high school diploma. Graduates are well-prepared to pursue higher education, vocational training, or enter the workforce with the skills and knowledge they’ve gained.

Post-Graduation Support
ROCS offers guidance and resources to help students plan their next steps after graduation, whether that’s applying to college, starting a career, or exploring other opportunities.

Why Choose Virtual Education?

ROCS empowers students to learn in environments that best suit their individual needs and pace, positioning them for success. Our virtual education model is perfect for those who need more flexibility, seek greater academic challenges, or thrive outside of traditional classroom settings. With a blend of structure and freedom, students can access coursework from any location, receiving immediate feedback and results.
